It’s time to vote for Sun Herald’s MS Coast Athlete of the Week for April 24

The playoffs have arrived for baseball and softball players around South Mississippi. First round softball games are wrapping up and baseball begins this week.

This is not a scientific poll, and you can vote as many times as you’d like until voting ends at noon on Monday, May 1, at www.sunherald.com.

Get to know the Sun Herald Athlete of the Week nominees here:

  • Brooklyn Rhodes, Vancleave softball: Rhodes struck out 10 batters and hit an RBI double in a 6-2 win over West Jones.
  • Harrison Central track and field: Red Rebels’ Jadan Miller and Dorian Jordan set the school records for discus and pole vault at the 6A regional track meet.
  • Gracie McDonald, Ocean Springs softball: McDonald kickstarted the Greyhounds’ sweep of Pearl with a four-hit, three-RBI game in an 11-0 win in game one.
  • Conner Dyess, Pearl River Central baseball: Dyess had three hits and a double with an RBI over two wins against Hancock.
  • Ben Davis, George County baseball: Davis had six hits across three wins for the Rebels, with a double, triple, two RBIs and three runs.
