St. Patrick names a new girl’s basketball coach with a winning record
St. Patrick has tabbed a new leader for its girl’s basketball program, according to the school.
Nick Mumme will take over the program, arriving from 4A Winona Christian where he served as athletic director and head coach of both the boy’s and girl’s basketball programs.
Mumme’s combined record over the last three years is 143-49. Both his boy’s and girl’s teams won at least 30 games this past season. They both also competed in the 4A state championship game.
“The hiring of coach Mumme shows our further commitment to continuing to grow and improve our women’s basketball program,” interim principal Trey Bailey said in a news release. “Coach has demonstrated in his young career that he is truly one of the up-and-coming coaches in the state.”
Before Winona Christian, Mumme also led Carroll Academy to the 3A state championship in 2020. The Fighting Irish will be competing at the 3A level next academic year.
