Top high school football performances from week 6 in South Mississippi
District play is in full swing, leading to timely and impressive outings from athletes across the Coast. Here were the top performers from week six.
- Trae Bailey, Christian Collegiate: Bailey ran for 137 yards on offense and recorded a sack on defense in CCA’s 50-6 win over Ben’s Ford.
- Marquise Washington, D’Iberville: Washington recorded 11 tackles and a tackle for loss in the 40-0 loss to Ocean Springs.
- Eli Smith, East Central: Smith toted the ball 18 times for 171 yards and three touchdowns in the Hornets’ 47-12 win over Pear River Central.
- Grey Bradley, East Central: Bradley had 125 rushing yards and a 72-yard touchdown.
- Kaden Irving, Gautier: Irving completed 10 of his 15 pass attempts for 183 yards and four scores in the Gators’ 55-6 win over Long Beach.
- Javorry Lett, Gautier: Lett had five tackles, one sack and interception.
- Prince Cunningham, Gulfport: The junior had two interceptions and returned one for a touchdown in the 48-24 win over Pascagoula.
- Zach Gullung, Hancock: Gullung ran for 197 yards and two touchdowns in the Hawks’ 35-21 win over St. Martin.
- Destin Coleman, Hancock: Coleman had 46 rushing yards and 36 receiving yards with a touchdown. Defensively, Coleman broke up five passes and recorded one interception.
- Bray Hubbard, Ocean Springs: Hubbard accounted for six touchdowns, four passing and two rushing, in a 40-0 win over D’Iberville.
- Keshawn Thomas, Ocean Springs: Thomas recorded 15 tackles, three tackles for loss and a forced fumble.
- Trace Carter, Ocean Springs: Carter had 11 tackles and four tackles for loss.
- Dante Dowdell, Picayune: Dowdell ran for 240 yards and three touchdowns on 13 carries in Picayune’s 49-7 win over Vancleave.
- Daylon Collins, Stone: Collins ran for 229 yards and two touchdowns in Stone’s 45-18 win over Moss Point.
- Thomas Salloum, St. Patrick: Salloum had 202 rushing yards and five touchdowns in the 56-18 win over Snook Academy.
- Otis Brooks, St. Patrick: Brooks ran the ball 11 times for 115 yards and a score. Also threw a touchdown and returned an interception for a score.
- Austin Lee, St. Patrick: Lee recorded two sacks on defense.
- Chandler Chapman, St. Stanislaus: Chapman ran for 314 yards and three scores in the 38-20 win over Lakeshore.
- Trey Harris, West Harrison: Harris ran for 180 yards and two touchdowns in West Harrison’s 50-49 overtime win over George County.
- Javon McCalebb, West Harrison: McCalebb rushed for 144 yards and two scores.
