Top high school football performances from week 3 in South Mississippi
Another week in high school football in South Mississippi is in the books. Here are the top performances from week three.
- Xander Ladner, Bay High: Ladner threw for 261 yards and four touchdowns in The Bay’s 42-21 win over Long Beach.
- Avery Harris, Bay High: Harris caught four passes for 128 yards and two scores.
- Eli Smith, East Central: Smith carried the ball 38 times for 304 yards and three scores in the Hornets’ 35-20 win over South Pike.
- Gage Peterson, D’Iberville: Peterson threw for 253 yards and two touchdowns on 10 completions in a 35-34 overtime loss to Jeff Davis County.
- Marquise Washington, D’Iberville: Washington had 15 tackles and one forced fumble.
- Kaleb Booker, D’Iberville: Booker ran for 86 yards and a touchdown and caught a 71-yard touchdown pass.
- Zachary Gallung, Hancock: Gallung led Hancock with 186 rushing yards and two touchdowns in the 44-22 win over Greene County.
- Jeffrey Hopgood, Hancock: The junior rushed for 143 yards and three touchdowns.
- Will Smith, Ocean Springs: Smith rushed for 213 yards and two touchdowns in the 36-0 win over George County.
- Bray Hubbard, Ocean Springs: Hubbard used his legs Friday and tallied 152 rushing yards and a score for the Greyhounds.
- Jacquez Alexander, Pass Christian: Alexander rushed for 204 yards and three touchdowns in the 21-14 win over Purvis.
- Chris Davis, Picayune: The junior scored two rushing touchdowns in the Maroon Tide’s 21-7 win over Gulfport.
- Avan Jarvis, Poplarville: Jarvis ran for 156 yards and two scores in Poplarville’s 48-0 win over Lumberton.
- Jayden Holden, Poplarville: Holden had two interceptions in the Hornets’ win.
- Daniel Pickens, Resurrection: Pickens ran the ball for 125 yards, caught a 30-yard pass and scored three touchdowns in the 20-7 win over Stringer.
- Noreel White, St. Martin: White ran for 83 yards, including a 79-yard run, and caught four passes for 42 yards. White scored three times in the 48-20 win over West Marion.
- DK Jenkins, St. Martin: Jenkins threw for 110 yards and three touchdowns while adding 108 rushing yards and a 73-yard rushing touchdown.
- John Peterson, Vancleave: Peterson ran for 287 yards and three touchdowns on 41 carries in a 35-26 win over Moss Point.
- Jeremy Jones, West Harrison: Jones ran for 173 yards and three scores in the 47-46 win over St. Helena (La.).
- Trey Harris, West Harrison: Harris rushed for 100 yards and a score on 12 carries.
