Who was the Coast’s best high school baseball player during the 2022 season? Vote now.

South Mississippi was again home to plenty of talented high school baseball players this season, and fans have a chance to vote this week to pick a Player of the Year for the 2022 campaign.

The winner will be recognized with the upcoming publication of this year’s All-South Mississippi Team.

You can vote as many times as you like until polls close at noon on June 29. This is not a scientific poll, so refresh the page to vote more than once for your top athlete.

Get to know the nominees for the fan’s vote Sun Herald baseball player of the year here and vote below:

  • Joe Scarborough, Resurrection: Scarborough had 45 hits, 19 of which for extra bases, and drove in 45 runs. The senior also carried a 0.51 ERA in 55.1 innings pitched on the mound.
  • TJ Dunsford, East Central: Dunsford had 41 hits and 30 RBIs at the plate while also striking out 107 batters as a pitcher.
  • Brandon Rhodes, St. Stanislaus: The senior led South MS with 51 hits and contributed on the mound with a 1.22 ERA in 40 innings of work.
  • Bray Hubbard, Ocean Springs: Hubbard had 15 extra base hits, including 8 home runs, with a .378 batting average.
  • Gehrig Conard, Stone: Conard had 26 hits, 10 doubles and 18 RBIs as a batter and worked a 0.66 ERA with 122 strikeouts as a pitcher.
  • Carson Robb, Vancleave: Robb recorded 33 hits at the plate and struckout 125 batters with a 0.86 ERA on the rubber.
  • Caleb Dyess, Pearl River Central: Dyess pitched to a 1.39 ERA while also recording 41 hits at the plate.
  • Logan Forsythe, D’Iberville: Forsythe struckout 101 batters and had a 1.74 ERA. Also picked up 27 hits and 14 RBIs.
  • Parker Dobson, St. Martin: The junior had 64 strikeouts from the mound and 24 hits with 18 RBIs at the plate.
  • Cameron Fennell, Long Beach: Fennell had 22 hits and 16 RBIs, plus a 1.31 ERA with 87 strikeouts.
