It’s time to vote for Sun Herald’s MS Coast Athlete of the Week for April 25
The playoffs have arrived and South Mississippi baseball and softball talent is taking the statewide stage.
These are some of the top performers from the first weekend of playoff action.
This is not a scientific poll, and you can vote as many times as you’d like until voting ends at 5 p.m. Friday, April 29.
We have girls and boys athletes representing St. Patrick, Vancleave, Stone, St. Stanislaus and Harrison Central in this week’s poll.

- Max Miller, Vancleave baseball: Pitched a complete game shutout with 11 strikeouts in a 6-0 game one win over Hattiesburg.
- Gehrig Conard, Stone baseball: Struck out 12 while pitching a complete game shutout in a 5-0 win over Purvis. Also hit two solo home runs.
- Gabby Smith, Harrison Central softball: Tossed a no-hitter in a 3-0 game one victory over Warren Central.
- Brooklyn Mitchell, St. Patrick softball: Mitchell had five hits with two RBIs in two games against Seminary, including two doubles and a triple.
- Hugh LeMasters, St. Stanislaus baseball: Reached base seven times in two games against Port Gibson. Had two hits, four RBIs and scored six times.
