Meet the All-South Mississippi Boys Basketball Team for the 2021-22 season

Another year of basketball on the Coast produced several Final Four teams and multiple top prospects as South Mississippi hoops shined.

This year’s edition of the All-South Team reflects the talent the region has put on display once again.

COACH OF THE YEAR

Seber Windham, Biloxi

Windham coached Biloxi to the Final Four after an early exit in last year’s playoffs. The Indians were among the state’s best teams throughout the year and won the Region 8-6A title with a 5-1 record.

PLAYER OF THE YEAR

Nick Krass, St. Patrick

The Fighting Irish star guided St. Patrick to the Final Four with a stellar senior season and is our Sun Herald Player of the Year.

Krass finished the season as one of the Coast’s top scorers, averaging 23 points per game while also adding 6.7 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 3.3 steals per game. He’s currently committed to play at Oregon State.

FANS’ CHOICE PLAYER OF THE YEAR

Oscar Hampton, Vancleave

Hampton received over 32,000 votes in our poll to take home the fan’s choice honors. The two-sport athlete led Vancleave to its best season in year’s, averaging 18.1 points and 10.2 rebounds per game.

Biloxi’s Duran Parish finished second in the voting with 29,000 votes cast.

Sun Herald Starting Five

  • Duran Parish, Biloxi - The senior scored 19 points a game while adding 7 rebounds and 5 assists per contest.
  • Nick Krass, St. Patrick - Krass led St. Patrick to a school record 31 wins.
  • Dominic Simpkins, D’Iberville - Simpkins averaged 17 points and 9 rebounds per game as a senior. Heading to Holmes Community College.
  • Sam Murray II, Harrison Central - Murray finished his career with a 17.8 point, 9.8 rebounds per game season. The senior has several Division I offers to choose from.
  • Kedrick Osby, Moss Point - The junior helped lead Moss Point to the 4A Final Four and holds the 2022 South Mississippi scoring title after averaging 23.3 points per game.

All-South Mississippi boy’s basketball team

  • Demarius Coleman, Harrison Central - The senior point guard averaged 12.8 points and 2.9 assists per game.
  • Jsaiah Brown, Stone - One of the best point guards on the Coast, Brown averaged 21.6 points, 6 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 3 steals per game.
  • Levontae Evans, D’Iberville - The sharp-shooting senior averaged 10.3 points a game while shooting 42 percent from three.
  • Blake Hart, Biloxi - Hart scored 15 points per game and shot 38 percent from beyond the arc.
  • Ray Daniel, Biloxi - The senior scored 7 points a game and picked up 7 assists per contest.
  • Eric Davis, St. Patrick - Davis averaged a double-double in his junior season, scoring 10.8 points and grabbing 10 rebounds per game.
  • DJ Pickens, Resurrection - Pickens scored 14.6 points and grabbed 3.1 rebounds per game as a junior.
  • Mathew Krass, St. Patrick - Krass scored 13 points and picked up 4.5 assists per game in his sophomore season.
  • Avery Carter, Ocean Springs - Carter scored 14.5 points and recorded 6.5 rebounds per game as a senior.
  • Nathan Patrick, Christian Collegiate - The senior averaged 16.2 points, 5.2 rebounds and 3 assists per game.
  • Hans Jackson, Christian Collegiate - Averaged a double-double with 13.2 points and 10.2 rebounds per game.
  • Davon Hall, Christian Collegiate - Scored 8.3 points and dished out 8 assists a game.
  • Elijah Isom, Ocean Springs - The sophomore point guard scored 12.9 points, grabbed 3.9 rebounds and dished out 3.4 assists per game.
  • Jack Schnoor, Resurrection - Schnoor grabbed a South-Mississippi-high 14.3 rebounds per game while scoring 7.1 points a contest.
  • LJ Jaynes, Pass Christian - Jaynes averaged 11.8 points per game and 3.8 assists per game as a sophomore.
  • Kameron White, Pass Christian - The senior scored 10.6 points a game and picked up 3.5 assists per contest.
  • Maddox Noblitt, Ocean Springs - A freshman with an offer from Southern Miss, Noblitt averaged 10.7 points and 4.2 rebounds per game.
  • John Davis III, Pascagoula - The senior averaged 11.4 points and 3.4 assists per game. Heading to Mississippi Gulf Coast CC.
  • Blaine Knight, Hancock - Knight averaged 11 points and 8 rebounds per game.
  • Dorian McMillian, Pascagoula - McMillian scored 9.3 points and hauled in 4.2 rebounds a game. Has an offer from Mississippi State.
  • Jackson Corey, Hancock - Corey scored 11 points a contest and shot 38 percent from three.
  • Trace Joseph, Pascagoula - Joseph averaged 8.2 points, 6.8 rebounds and 2.2 blocks a game. He’s heading to Mississippi Gulf Coast CC.
  • Robert Millender, Pascagoula - Averaged 7.8 points, 4.7 rebounds and 1.2 steals per game.
