Winter sports are heating up across the Coast and South Mississippi athletes are stepping up for their schools.
Region play is starting in earnest in basketball while some of the top soccer teams are gearing up for a playoff run.

- Maddy Ladner, Hancock girls basketball: Maddy scored 21 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in upset win over Harrison Central.
- Haleigh Breland, Harrison Central girls basketball: Haleigh scored 26 points against Hancock.
- Kedrick Osby, Moss Point boys basketball: Kedrick scored 24 points against Gulfport.
- Dorian McMillian, Pascagoula boys basketball: Dorian registered 18 points, four rebounds, four assists and five steals against Quitman.
- Addie Eddins, Gulfport girls soccer: Addie scored three goals across two games against South Haven and St. Patrick.
