Ocean Springs cruises to win over D’Iberville. Here are all the high school football scores.

Ocean Springs used a big first half to turn an expected showdown between two ranked, undefeated teams into a one-sided victory Friday night, as the Greyhounds cruised to a 42-14 road victory at D’Iberville.

Quarterback Bray Hubbard ran for a pair of touchdowns and passed for another as the third-ranked Greyhounds improved to 5-0 overall and 2-0 in Region 4-6A play. The Warriors, ranked ninth in the Associated Press Overall poll, dropped to 5-1 and 1-1.

Ocean Springs opened a 28-0 halftime lead after tailback David Humphries ran for touchdowns of 9 and 6 yards, then Hubbard connected with senior J.P. Coulter for 30-yard scoring pass and ran for an 8-yard TD late in the first half.

The Greyhound offense meshed nicely with the defense that held D’Iberville to a net of 29 yards and just two first downs in the first half.

“The three-and-outs by the defense helped us get the game going,” said Ocean Springs coach Blake Pennock in a report on ScoreBook Live Mississippi. “We feel great about our running game. The tempo sets in and wears a lot of people out.”

Hubbard completed 12 of 16 passes for 128 yards and ran 11 times for 58 yards, including a 19-yard touchdown run in the third quarter after the Warriors scored with the opening possession of the second half on a 2-yard run by Drey Lenoir.

“We just made too many mistakes,” said D’Iberville coach Larry Dolan. “We shot ourselves in the foot so many times, we couldn’t get anything going.”

The Warriors did get something going late in the third period, driving to a 1-yard touchdown run by Lenoir, who finished with 84 yards on 15 carries.

After recovering an onside kick, Ocean Springs drove for a final score on Humphries’ third rushing touchdown, from 2-yards out. Humphries netted 122 yards, despite losing 29 on a bad snap in the first quarter.

Caleb Williams had 12 tackles and forced a fumble on defense for D’Iberville.

After Pascagoula (1-5, 0-2) missed a field goal, Reed dashed 80 yards for his first score of the game and a 14-0 lead. Palazzo hooked up with Joel Smith on a 45-yard scoring pass and a 20-0 halftime advantage.

The Panthers got on the scoreboard with a touchdown pass midway through the third quarter, but the Admirals turned to Reed, who delivered a 16-yard touchdown run to lead 26-7 after three quarters.

The Red Rebels narrowed the margin on the opening possession of the second half, on a 65-yard touchdown pass from Christian Turner to Isaiah Atkins. However, the Indians regained the 10-point advantage on a touchdown run by Amarion Pierce.

Harrison Central began its comeback late in the third quarter on a 14-yard TD pass from Turner to Devon Culbertson. Adding the PAT kick, the Red Rebels trailed 22-19.

For the game, Turner completed 12 of 20 passes for 160 yards; he also ran nine times for 52 yards. Atkins had six receptions for 111 yards.

After getting the ball back, Harrison Central drove to the go-ahead touchdown on a 4-yard run by Collins, with the conversion kick giving the Red Rebels their first lead with seven minutes to play.

Biloxi drove inside the Harrison Central 1-yard-line in the final minute of play, but a penalty cost the Indians 5 yards, and the Red Rebels made a stop at the 5-yard line on the final play of the game.
