Meet the Sun Herald’s Boys Basketball All-South Mississippi Team for 2020
The 2019-20 campaign proved to be the season that the Coast showed it was again ready to contend for state championships.
Both Harrison Central and Biloxi advanced to the Class 6A Final Four and that’s why those two programs were rewarded with top individual honors on this year’s Sun Herald All-South Mississippi Team.
The Red Rebels rolled to a record of 26-5 under head coach Boo Hardy, and they have a chance to be even better next season with much of this year’s squad back for another season.
Biloxi and Gulfport (26-7) had exceptional seasons as well, but it was the Indians who advanced past the Admirals in the state quarterfinals at the Coast Coliseum.
Here’s how this year’s Sun Herald Boys Basketball All-South Mississippi Team looks:
Coach of the Year
Seber Windham, Biloxi
After losing four starters from the 2018-19 squad, Windham led the Indians to a 24-5 record and a spot in the Class 6A Final Four. He built a team around senior center Caleb McCarty that easily surpassed expectations, beating Gulfport 63-50 in the quarterfinals to advance to Jackson.
Player of the Year
Carlous Williams, Harrison Central
The 6-foot-6, 240-pound forward has long been tabbed as one of the up and coming talents on the Coast. In his junior year, he put together the breakout season that many expected of him. He averaged 16 points and 12 rebounds, leading the Red Rebels to the Class 6A Final Four in Jackson. Williams is also regarded as a strong Div. I prospect and already holds offers from Houston and New Orleans. Ole Miss, Southern Miss and Baylor have also shown strong interest.
Fan’s Choice Player of the Year

The 6-foot-4 junior forward produced plenty of double-doubles this year, averaging 19.1 points and 7.8 rebounds a game. He helped lead the Fighting Irish to a spot in the Class 2A state quarterfinals with an overall record of 22-9.
