Biloxi is hosting the fourth annual MLK Gulf Coast Classic Monday at the Biloxi Sports Arena.

Four games will be played, starting at 1 p.m. when Gulfport meets Moss Point in a girls' contest. The Indians face Moss Point in a boys' game at 2:30 p.m. Other games in the tournament are Biloxi facing Gautier in a girls’ contest at 4 p.m. Gulfport meets St. Martin in the day’s final game at 5:30 p.m.

“It’s an honor to play on MLK Day,” Indians coach Seber Windham said. “We are working in the near future to expand and make it bigger.”

Biloxi (18-1) is coming off its first loss of the season, a 60-55 setback at Harrison Central on Friday in Lyman.

The MLK Tournament started three years ago at Gulfport. Biloxi and Gulfport officials have decided to alternate the event between the two schools. The team that hosts the Biloxi-Gulfport football game usually hosts the MLK Classic in the same school year.

“We are excited to play a quality Moss Point team,” Lady Admirals coach Brooke Glass said. “They have a new coach and have played quality competition so we are hoping to build momentum going into the District Tournament.”

Picayune is the other Coast team in action Monday. The Maroon Tide faces Jim Hill at Jackson Lanier at 1:30 p.m. Monday.
