Biloxi senior’s hot shot lands Sun Herald honor
Biloxi senior guard Dillyn Neely is this week's Sun Herald Boys Player of the Week after leading the Indians to a pair of wins.
Neely scored 23 points in a 72-35 win at Hancock on Dec. 12 and 24 in the 66-55 victory over rival Gulfport on Friday.
Neely transferred from D'Iberville to Biloxi for his senior season and his outside shot has proven a welcome addition to the Indians' backcourt.
Biloxi, which is ranked No. 1 by the Sun Herald, is 15-0 overall and 1-0 in region play.
Biloxi will play host to the Jackie Laird Christmas Tournament on Friday and Saturday.
Friday's games are 5 p.m. (Vigor-Long Beach), 6:30 p.m. (St. Martin-Hewitt Trussville) and 8 p.m. (Theodore-Biloxi). Saturday's games are 2:30 p.m. (Hewitt Trussville-Long Beach), 4 p.m. (Theodore-St. Martin) and 5:30 p.m. (Biloxi-Vigor).
