Prep roundup: Mississippi State signee Daphane White nearly scores 70 in win

In a season that has already included plenty of mind-blowing performances, it will be hard to top Friday for St. Martin’s Daphane White. The Mississippi State signee scored 69 points with 19 rebounds and seven blocks to lead the Yellow Jackets past Pass Christian 92-69. The St. Martin win avenges a recent loss to the Pirates. Alexis Walker added 10 assists, six points and six rebounds for St. Martin. Octaviuna Oatis also had 10 assists and nine points. Maliyah Bullard led PCHS with 19 points. Cayla Obillo scored 17, while Emory Benoit added 14 points of her own.

Harrison Central girls 77, Laurel 55: De’Asia Booker led HCHS with 20 points and six assists. Chyna Allen added 18 points of her own with four steals. Da’Mia Henry recorded a double-double with 15 points, 16 rebounds and four blocks. Olivia Brooks also scored 12 points for HCHS.

Harrison Central girls 71, Madison-Ridgeland Academy 49: HCHS picked up a lopsided win Saturday thanks in large part to a 29-point performance from Allen. Henry and Booker added 13 and 10 points respectively.

Pearl River Central girls 57, Poplarville 23: Lakyn Spence converted three 3-pointers to help pace PRC (8-3) in scoring with 13 points. Samantha Orgeron led the Lady Devils with 14 points. Harlee Davis also scored 13 for PRC. Tytiania Buckley led Poplarville with 10 points.

St. Martin 48, Pass Christian 38: Trez Kennedy led the Yellow Jackets (9-3) with 16 points and five rebounds. Jariyon Wilkens added 10 points. Jaronn Wilkens led SMHS with 10 rebounds and added six points.

Pass Christian girls 43, D’Iberville 37: Bullard and Obillo led PCHS (9-4) with 23 and 12 points.

Centerville Academy 50, Christian Collegiate Academy 31: Michael Fitzpatrick led CCA (0-5) with 16 points.

George County girls 9, Meridian 0: Brooke Tanner led George County’s scoring explosion with three goals. Kara Wager added two, with Tiffany Byrd, Lexi Green, Kylie Mietz and Camie Pinter also scoring. Skyler Steede and Kylie Dailey split the shutout in goal for GCHS (12-1-1, 2-0).

Gulfport girls 3, Harrison Central 1: Kayley Holloway scored twice and Britton Simpson added a goal and an assist for GHS (5-5-4, 3-0).

Gulfport 8, Harrison Central 0: Miguel Hernandez netted a hat trick, while Mohamed Diallo scored twice for the Admirals. Christopher Bruni, Tate Myrick and Gavin Taylor also scored for GHS. Gannon Key and Aubrey Christian combined for the shutout.

Long Beach 4, Gautier 0: Kai VanCourt led LBHS with two goals. Brennan Ladner and Connor Clark also scored. Justin Rolison earned the shutout.

Long Beach girls 3, Gautier 0: Maddie Beets scored twice and Alex Segura added a goal for LBHS (10-0-1). Beets also picked up an assist, as did Lauren Bennett.
