Hancock DB lands Sun Herald defensive award
Free safety Michael Durr had the biggest impact in Hancock’s 30-27 win over Brandon on Friday night at Brett Favre Field.
The senior earned Sun Herald defensive player of the week honors after recording two interceptions to lead the Hawks’ stellar defensive effort in their first-round 6A playoff victory.
One of Durr’s interceptions was returned 26 yards for a touchdown. His other interception also led to another Hancock touchdown.
Hancock travels to Pearl in second-round playoff action next Friday.
