Resurrection steamrolls East Marion to clinch third place in Region 4-1A
Running back Jerry Johnson ran for over 200 yards and scored five touchdowns as Resurrection beat East Marion 55-34 on Thursday.
Resurrection (5-6) advances to next week’s Class 1A state playoffs as the third seed in Region 4-1A. The Eagles will travel in round one.
The Eagles led 35-22 at halftime as Jerry Johnson scored on runs of 1,4 and 10 yards. Blake Porter threw a 22 yd TD pass to Caden Hinman and a two-point conversion to Becht Powell. Patrick Lee had a 55-yard kickoff return for a touchdown.
In the second half, Terrance Spivery and Johnson each scored touchdowns.
