Long Beach, Hattiesburg reschedule crucial Region 4-5A football contest
Long Beach and Hattiesburg moved their Region 4-5A contest to Thursday at D.I. Patrick Stadium because stormy weather is expected to hit the Pine Belt Region Friday.
Hattiesburg (9-0, 5-0) sits atop Region 4-5A and has clinched a 5A state playoff berth. The Tigers close the regular season at West Harrison next week.
Long Beach (6-3, 3-2) still has a chance to reach the playoffs, but the Bearcats must beat the Tigers or Stone High next week to have a chance at qualifying for the postseason.
The Bearcats are coached by Forrest Williams.
