St. Patrick falls to Perry Central in tough road game
St. Patrick faced a tough foe at undefeated 2A powerhouse Perry Central on Friday night, falling 40-7.
“It was a pretty rough night for us,” said Jim Bloomfield St. Patrick head football coach. “They are a really good team.”
Perry Central got on the board first early in the first quarter but missed the extra point.
Shortly thereafter, St. Patrick stopped a Perry Central drive and blocked a punt before leading a successful drive that ended with a 3-yard touchdown Carson Bishop-to-Robert Starks pass followed by a good PAT from Chris Collins.
From there, it was all Perry Central’s game, ending the first half up 27-7 and upping that to 40-7 by the end of the game.
St. Patrick (2-6 overall and 0-3 in the district) travels to Meridian to face Clarkdale next Friday night for a non-division contest.
