Middle linebacker shines to earn Sun Herald defensive honor
Middle linebacker Mitchell Bowie played a big role in Ocean Springs 26-21 upset victory over Biloxi on Friday night at Greyhound Stadium.
The sophomore had two interceptions and made 14 total tackles as the Greyhounds (3-4, 1-2 Region 4-6A) stayed in the Region 4-6A playoff picture.
Bowie’s first pick ended one Biloxi drive. Ocean Springs converted Bowie’s second pick into a 11-yard Daveaunce Gaines touchdown run in the third quarter.
