D’Iberville scores in bunches early to run away from Pascagoula

The D’Iberville Warriors jumped on Pascagoula early Friday and ended up running away from the new Class 6A school in a 42-13 victory.

Devon Dixon opened the scoring for DHS (3-4, 2-1) with a 13-yard run. After Thomas King returned a fumble 20-yards for a score, Ja’Quavis Foster broke free for a 42-yard score to put the Warriors ahead 21-0.

Foster scored on a 6-yard run in the second quarter before Pascagoula’s Dalvin Abney scored on a 2-yard run with 19 seconds remaining in the half.

Jaden Walley and Jordan Hartley scored on runs of 2 and 3 yards in the second half to cap D’Iberville’s offensive outburst.

Pascagoula’s Slade Mink connected with Travis Watson for an 11-yard touchdown late in the game to round out the scoring.

Foster led all players with 140 yards on 14 carries. Walley added 55 for DHS. Abney led Pascagoula (2-5, 0-3) with 118 yards on 16 carries.

D’Iberville will travel to Hancock next Friday. Pascagoula hosts Ocean Springs.
