Prep roundup: Ocean Springs goes the distance against Vancleave; Gulfport tops Long Beach

Gulfport swept Long Beach on Thursday 3-0 (25-12, 25-14, 25-12).

Dywana Parker led GHS in kills with 13. Jayden Bishop added nine, while Aley Woodberry tallied five. Woodberry also led GHS with three blocks. Devyn Alexander had a team-high 19 service points.

Ocean Springs def. Vancleave 3-2 (17-25, 24-26, 25-17, 25-23, 15-9): Ocean Springs came up big on senior night. Abby Murrell led OSHS (24-7, 6-0) with 19 assists. She also had seven digs. Chloe Coulter recorded six kills and 16 digs. Kennedy Bahr had 10 digs. Peyton Emperley had three aces, 16 assists and seven digs. Kaytie Rutland recorded four aces, eight kills and eight blocks. Abby Chapman had six bloxks. Amberly Blowers contributed three aces, eight kills and five blocks. Amelia Moore rounded out Ocean Springs’ leaders with 15 kills, 19 digs and four aces. Payton McKerchie led VHS with 19 kills. Carly Danley added 13. Paige Davis led the Bulldogs with 37 assists and four aces. Sydney Salter added 19 digs for Vancleave.
