The St. Stanislaus Rockachaws picked up a lopsided 47-0 win over Vancleave in their Region 8-4A opener Friday.

J.D. Rutherford interception helped set up the game’s first score, a 6-yard pass from Jake Greer to Taylor LaFontaine.

Greer then connected with Harrison Brewer for a 25-yard score to push St. Stanislaus (3-3, 1-0) ahead of VHS (1-5, 0-1) 14-0.

Greer connected with Delvin Henry for the Rockachaws’ next score, a 16-yard strike. SSC failed to convert the PAT, however.

A 35-yard pass-and-catch from Greer to Andrew Trapani later in the first half pushed SSC ahead 27-0. Greer then connected with Brewer again for a 3-yard strike just before halftime.

SSC kept the offense moving in the second half as Greer connected with Thomas Williams for a 22-yard touchdown to push the Rockachaws ahead 40-0.

A 4-yard touchdown from Pat Greer to Bradley Darby capped the night’s scoring.

Jake Greer finished the game with 261 yards passing and six touchdowns. Brewer led SSC with five receptions for 90 yards and two scores.

St. Stanislaus returns to action next Friday at home against Bay. VHS hosts Moss Point.
