East Central again found its way in the second half to topple George County 45-12 Friday night in Lucedale.
Senior running back Tony Brown had another big game on the ground, running 24 times for 260 yards and three touchdowns.
East Central (2-0) entered halftime with a 10-6 lead before pulling away in the second half for the decisive win.
"Honestly, that was some my fault (in the first half)," East Central coach Seth Smith said. "I didn't get into a great rhythm calling plays. Once our offensive line got going we were able to pick up the pace a little bit."
Senior tight end Brad Cumbest, a Mississippi State commit, has a nice night catching the ball, pulling in three passes for 58 yards and a touchdown.
Dylan Grinsteinner and Ryan Evans also had rushing scores for the Hornets.
Junior linebacker Avery White had eight 14 tackles (eight solo) and three sacks to lead the way on defense for the Hornets. Senior linebacker Cade Miles added 11 tackles, two sacks and an interception.
