The George County defense managed to provide a pair of touchdowns Friday night, but it wasn't enough on the road at rival Greene County.
The Wildcats held the Rebels scoreless in the second half to pick up a 14-13 victory in Leakesville. Greene County, which is coached by former George County assistant Michael King, improved to 2-0.
The George County defense recovered a fumble in the end zone for the first score of the game and defensive back Jonovan Jackson returned an interception 15 yards for another score to give the Rebels a 13-7 advantage at the half.
Greene County's winning score came on a touchdown toss from senior quarterback Derrick Grice to junior receiver Kevin Dortch.
George County, which has yet to score an offensive touchdown this season, will host East Central next week. The Rebels are 0-2.
