Prep roundup: Harrison Central volleyball powers past D’Iberville

Zimar Feyjoo helped lead Harrison Central’s volleyball team past D’Iberville on Thursday 3-1 (25-10, 23-25, 25-12, 25-10). Feyjoo tallied 16 kills and 12 aces. Isjah Cooper helped power the HCHS attack with 17 kills of her own.

George County def. Greene County 3-0 (25-11, 25-8, 25-17): Victoria Pontocorvo led the Lady Rebels with 11 kills. Evie Simpson added nine aces and Susie Lebert collected 16 service points.

Gautier def. Pascagoula 3-0 (25-14, 25-13, 27-25): Ziyuna Grady had seven kills and four blocks. Lanay Williams had 11 kills and seven blocks. Madison Thompson and Trinity Davis collected nine and eight service points respectively. Nene Boykin had 13 service points.

Vancleave def. Ocean Springs 3-2 (25-22, 23-25, 18-25, 25-20, 15-12): Payton McKerchie led VHS with 18 kills, while Paige Davis dished out 42 assists to go along with 18 service points and five aces. Sydney Salter had 25 digs. Amelia Moore led OSHS (6-4) with 15 kills, 12 digs, three blocks and two aces. Kennedy Bahr collected 24 digs. Allison Carpenter and Peyton Emperly set up the offense with 13 digs apiece.

Gulfport def. Long Beach 3-0 (25-23, 25-19, 25-11): Aley Woodberry paced Gulfport’s attack with eight kills. Maranda Cowan was second on the twam with six. Jayden Bishop recorded 10 service points with four kills and three blocks. Brooklynn Montana led GHS with 17 points.

Slow pitch softball

Biloxi 8, Moss Point 4: Amya Smith earned the win for BHS (2-2) . She also recorded two hits and four RBIs to help her cause. Christine Marsland tallied three hits, including two doubles. Alexus Cruse and Zoe Sayler each had three hits.
