Our Lady Academy volleyball coach Mike Meyers earned his 500th career victory during the Set it off tournament in Jackson.

Meyers, who began coaching at OLA in the late 1990’s, has a 501-117 record at OLA, including 11 state championships.

“It’s really neat to have had the opportunity for the last 18 years to be associated with such a wonderful group of young ladies who wholeheartedly bought into our program,” Meyers said.

“This is certainly their honor. I thank each of them, along with my good friend and assistant coach Steve Reboul. Thank you also to OLA, especially my family and Brian Milner, who have helped through the years. I feel very blessed to be a part of OLA volleyball.”

The Lady Crescents beat NW Rankin 25-18, 25-18; Ridgeland 25-16, 25-11; Clinton 25-18, 25-16 and lost to Jackson Academy 25-11, 19-25, 15-17. OLA leaders were: Rebecca Walk- 34 kills, 16 aces, 36 points, 5 blocks; Lizzie Mirandy- 10 kills, 7 aces, 13 points; Emma Funk- 64 kills, 5 aces, 20 pts, 12 blocks; Hannah Gest- 87 assists, 9 aces, 24 points.

Resurrection wins Pass Christian tournament: The Lady Eagles went 6-0 at the Pass Christian tournament. They beat Pass Christian, 21-6, 17-21, 15-8; Pascagoula 21-16, 21-5; Gulfport 21-18, 12-21, 17-15; Gautier 21-9, 21-7. In the semifinals, the Lady Eagles beat D’Iberville 21-11, 21-5 and won the finals over Gulfport 21-13, 17-21, 20-18.
