Prep roundup: Stone, Poplarville, Hancock all win jamborees
Travis Picco threw two touchdown passes to Enrique Whaley as Stone beat Ocean Springs 21-0 in a high school jamboree on Friday night at Hugh Pepper Field. Jamir Jamison also returned a fumble for a touchdown to lead the Tomcats.
Poplarville 7, Jeff Davis County 0: Austin Bolton scored on a 69-yard touchdown run to lead the defending 4A South state champions.
Hancock 14, Bay High 0: Caleb Garcia threw a 45-yard TD pass to Anthony Jones and Blake Comeaux scored from one yard out to lead the Hawks.
Sumrall 3, George County 0: The Rebels’ defense played solid against the Bobcats, who had three fumbles.
Oak Grove 21, St. Martin 3: Sean Gomez’s 42 yard field goal provided the only scoring for the Yellow Jackets.
