Prep roundup: Amelia Moore picks up where she left off in ’16, leads OSHS to victory

Ocean Springs its volleyball season off to a hot start Tuesday, topping East Central 3-1 (25-17, 25-17, 17-25, 25-18).

Amelia Moore led OSHS with 18 kills, four blocks and two aces. Kaytie Rutland added five kills, three digs, three blocks and three assists. Chloe Coulter and Abby Murrell added four kills apiece while Kennedy Bahr led the Lady Greyhounds with 14 digs.

Ocean springs visits Biloxi on Thursday.

Gulfport defeats St. Martin: Gulfport dropped its first set but rallied Tuesday to top St. Martin 3-1 (21-25, 25-11, 25-21, 25-16). Jayden Bishop and Dywana Parker led Gulfport with nine kills apiece. Maranda Cowan added four, while Aley Woodberry and Alexus Marsh chipped in two apiece. Montana led GHS with eight assists. Bishop served up seven assists as well.
