St. Martin offensive tackle Brandon Cunningham verbally committed to the University of Miami this weekend.
Moments after the Hurricanes’ Parade camp wrapped up in Miami, the junior made his decision.
Southern Miss and Memphis were the other Football Bowl Subdivision teams that extended a scholarship offer to Cunningham, considered a top prospect in the Class of 2019.
“It’s a big time atmosphere down there,” Yellow Jackets coach Eddie Wayne Whitehead said. “His dedication and work ethic improved over the summer. He sees the work it takes to play on the college level.”
At 6-foot-5 and 270 pounds, Cunningham has the size to play either on the offensive line or the defensive line in college. He’s listed as the ninth-rated junior by 247Sports.
The Yellow Jackets will also play Cunningham on the defensive line this season.
