Fast start lifts Mendenhall past Vancleave

The best Vancleave basketball season in a decade ended Saturday night in Mendenhall.

Mendenhall jumped to an early lead en-route to a 73-46 victory over the Bulldogs.

Vancleave finished 21-12.

Trevor Davis led the Bulldogs with 12 points, Jonathan Knight added 11.

“Mendenhall has an athletic team that plays well together,” Vancleave coach Robert Johnson said. “I’m proud of our guys. They worked hard all season long.”
