The recently released All-Region 8-4A team features some of South Mississippi’s best football players.
St. Stanislaus quarterback Myles Brennan and East Central running back Tony Brown were named the region’s MVPs, with Pass Christian running back V.J. Swanier and Moss Point linebacker Rayshon Marcel earning offensive and defensive MVP honors.
The 8-4A first-team offense included quarterback Kenny Goff (Vancleave); running backs Vernon Barnes (Bay) and Omni Wells (Moss Point); receivers Brad Cumbest (East Central), Corbin Blanchard (St. Stanislaus), Darius Pittman (St. Stanislaus) and Xavier Bass (Vancleave); tight end Chase Rogers (St. Stanislaus); fullback Nate Stewart (Pass Christian); linemen Matt Sellers (Moss Point), Chris Brown (Bay High), Conner Estes (East Central), Ryan Cumbest (East Central) and Travon Frost (Pass Christian); kicker Alex Strong (Vancleave); and punter Austin Herrera (Moss Point).
The 8-4A first-team defense included linemen Joe Reeder (St. Stanislaus), Ahmad Brown (East Central), Davonta Toles (Pass Christian), Dewayne Sipp (Moss Point) and Marquis Peairs (Moss Point); linebackers Andrew Seward (East Central), Cade Compretta (Bay High), Ricky Schaefer (St. Stanislaus), Isiah Tinson (Pass Christian) and Avery White (East Central); defensive backs Keith Mitchell (Moss Point), Dillon Whavers (Pass Christian), Christian Johnson (Vancleave), J.D. Rutherford (St. Stanislaus) and Anthony Kirkland (Moss Point); and utility player David Capers (Vancleave).
