Prep roundup: Volleyball rivals collide across the Coast

The Ocean Springs volleyball team cruised to a 3-0 victory over St. Martin on Tuesday.

Amelia Moore had 11 kills, four aces and four blocks to lead the Lady Greyhounds. Chloe Coulter had six kills, Makya Mack contributed five kills and Peyton Emperley added 14 assists.

Ocean Springs, which won 25-13, 25-9 and 25-15, improves to 9-8 overall and 1-0 in the region.

Long Beach 3, Hattiesburg 2

The Long Beach volleyball team pulled out a 3-2 win over Hattiesburg on Tuesday.

The Lady Bearcats won the first two sets 25-23 and 25-15. Hattiesburg rebounded to win the next two sets 25-22 and 25-19. Long Beach claimed the fifth set 15-7.

Bridgett McMillian four blacks and Malayna Cruz eight digs. Pauge Myers three aces.

Vancleave 4, East Central 1

The Vancleave volleyball team picked up a 4-1 win over Jackson County rival East Central Tuesday night.

The Lady Bulldogs (19-5, 4-0) won 25-19, 17-25, 25-21 and 25-19. The Lady Bulldogs had several standouts: Carley Danley had 13 kills, Cheyenne Strickland contributed 11 kills, Paige Davis pitched in 20 assist and two aces while Sydney Salter pulled out 22 digs.

Blake Leviner had 15 kills and 11 digs for East Central while Kaitlyn Young and Madison Pearson both had three digs.

Resurrection 3, St. Patrick 0

The Resurrection Catholic volleyball team won 3-0 over St. Patrick Tuesday night. The Lady Eagles won, 25-17, 25-6 and 25-13.

Shannon Kirkpatrick of St. patrick had eight service aces and four kills. Hannah D'Aunoy and Hallie Ladner both contributed a block and a kill.

OLA 3, Lumberton 0

The OLA volleyball team earned a 3-0 win over Lumberton Tuesday night. Margaret White had 17 service points and 10 aces for the Crescents. Alia Tayara contributed 18 service points and 10 aces. Hannah Gest had six aces 10 points and 19 assists. Emma Funk added 10 kills.
