C-Spire Pro-Am closed to the public on Thursday at Fallen Oak
The Fallen Oak golf course will be closed to public for the C-Spire Pro-Am on Thursday, Mississippi Gulf Resort Classic officials announced Tuesday afternoon.
The decision was made due to severe weather expected in the area.
Fallen Oak will only be open to volunteers and participants of the C Spire Pro-Am. The morning tee times have been moved back three hours to start at 10 a.m. while the afternoon tee times remain the same. In addition, all groups will only play nine holes.
"We regret that Fallen Oak will not be open to the public for the C Spire Pro-Am Thursday," MGRC director Steve Nieman said in a press release. "The safety of our spectators is our highest priority, and based upon much discussion and input from the Tour's on-site meteorologist, we feel that the forecasts for Thursday warrant us erring on the side of caution. We look forward to opening the course on Friday with the first round of the Mississippi Gulf Resort Classic Presented by C Spire."
The Mississippi Gulf Resort Classic Presented by C Spire will take place Friday-Sunday at Fallen Oak in Saucier. Tickets are $15 and on sale now. They can be purchased online at www.2016MGRC.com or by calling the tournament office at (228) 896-6365. Children 16 and under are admitted free with a ticketed adult.
