Ole Miss' Breeland Speaks arrested on DWI
Ole Miss defensive lineman Breeland Speaks was arrested Friday morning on a charge of DUI first offense, according to multiple reports.
Coach Hugh Freeze acknowledged the arrest Friday, issuing the following statement: "Breeland's poor choice does not meet the expectations of our program, and there will be consequences. He and I have spoken, and he is very disappointed in himself and will accept whatever punishment that is handed down. We are very thankful he is safe and that this was not a life-altering decision. In these situations, we hope our young men learn from their mistakes and do not let the mistake define them."
During his redshirt freshman season in 2015, the Callaway product played mostly in a reserve role for the Rebels, recording 32 tackles with one sack and 5.5 tackles for loss.
Speaks played a larger role in the Rebels' Sugar Bowl win in place of the suspended Robert Nkemdiche and is expected to compete for starts in 2016.
