Ole Miss says LB CJ Johnson has meniscus surgery, expected to miss 4-6 weeks
Ole Miss senior linebacker C.J. Johnson is expected to miss 4-6 weeks after having meniscus surgery Tuesday, according to a school spokesman.
Johnson made the move from defensive end back to his prep position of linebacker this season and had been efficient for the Rebels. Playing in four of Ole Miss' five games, Johnson had recorded 17 tackles with two interceptions, two quarterback hurries, three passes defended and one pass breakup.
His timetable means he will miss at least New Mexico State, Memphis, Texas A&M and Auburn, with the Nov. 7 showdown against Arkansas his earliest return. Ole Miss has a bye week following its game against the Hogs before hosting LSU on Nov. 21.
