The Clarion-Ledger and Team Stream both reported Thursday that Mississippi State cornerback Will Redmond has torn his anterior cruciate ligament and will likely miss the rest of the season.

Redmond tore the ACL during practice Wednesday, according to the report.

Redmond leads Mississippi State with two interceptions and is considered one of the nation's top defensive backs.

The Bulldogs (5-2) play host to Kentucky at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, which will be televised by the SEC Network.
