LSU has released a statement saying the live mascot, a Bengali-Siberian hybrid tiger, has been moved to hospice.

The announcement was made on Mike VI’s official Facebook page on Monday morning.

The one-sentence announcement also said the tiger will no longer be in his yard.

The LSU mascot was diagnosed with a rare, incurable cancer in May. On Wednesday, LSU veterinarian David Baker said at a news conference that the cancer has grown, giving Mike one to two months to live.
