5 Gulf Coast golfers named All-MACJC

No. 2 Mississippi Gulf Coast placed its entire MACJC championship-winning squad on the All-State teams following conclusion of the conference season.

Grant Motter, the MACJC Tournament medalist, and Colin Troxler earned first-team honors. Motter's 70.83 per round average was second best in the state, with Troxler fourth best at 72.42.

The second team included the Bulldogs' Phillip Hickam, George Kawell and Jonathon Newman.

Hickam has signed with Tennessee-Chattanooga, and Kawell has signed with Delta State.

Motter won the MACJC Tournament by seven shots to defend his title, and the Bulldogs won their second straight championship and seventh since 2008.

Gulf Coast will play in the NJCAA Region 23 Tournament on April 25-26 in Senatobia. The school is the eight-time defending champs.
