Former Southern Miss quarterback Austin Davis was cut by the Cleveland Browns on Monday after seeing limited time in the preseason.
Davis played in the Browns' preseason opener, but left the game after suffering a concussion. He finished 4-of-9 for 32 yards in the contest.
Davis was cleared from concussion protocol a week ago, but did not take the field in the last two preseason contests.
The Meridian native appeared in three games last year for the Browns, starting two. He completed 59.6 percent of his passes for 547 yards, one touchdown and three interceptions.
