Southern Miss coach Scott Berry will speak at Ohr-O’Keefe Museum

Southern Miss baseball coach Scott Berry will be the guest speaker at noon Friday at the Ohr-O’Keefe Museum.

Berry will discuss the Golden Eagles’ season and his career at the latest “Our Love Affair with Baseball” series luncheon. The $10 luncheon includes free admission to the multimedia exhibit.

Since becoming the Southern Miss head coach in 2010, Berry has compiled a 249-157-1 record, including a 118-68 mark in Conference-USA. The Golden Eagles also won the C-USA Tournament crown in 2010.

This season, Southern Miss went 41-19 and won the C-USA Tournament championship. The Golden Eagles’ season ended with a 7-5 loss to South Alabama in the Tallahassee Regional.

Southern Miss will have six players with Coast ties on its roster. Michael Gilbert played at Harrison Central. Tracy Hadley and Daniel Keating played at Pascagoula High and Gulfport High, respectively.

Pitchers Peyton Lee and Jordan Hayes of Pearl River CC and Gulfport’s Alex Nelms are Golden Eagle signees.
