Tori Bowie delivered a second Olympic medal for her home state of Mississippi Wednesday night in Rio.
Bowie stumbled slightly not long after leaving the gate, but managed to get across the finish line to win the bronze medal for the U.S.
Elaine Thompson of Jamaica won gold in the 200 meters and defending world champion Dafne Schippers of the Netherlands earned silver.
Bowie, a former Southern Miss track standout, finished with a time of 22.15 seconds in Wednesday's race.
The native of Rankin County came up just short of gold in the 100 meters earlier in the Olympics, taking silver for the first medal of her career.
