Southern Miss QB Nick Mullens named to yet another watch list
Southern Miss senior quarterback Nick Mullens was named Monday to the watch list for the 2016 Manning Award Watch.
The Manning Award goes annually to the nation's top college quarterback.
Mullens is also on the watch lists for the Maxwell Award, Wuerfell Trophy, Allstate AFCA Good Works Team, Davey O'Brien Award, Walter Camp Award and Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award.
The Manning Award was created by the Allstate Sugar Bowl in honor of the college football accomplishments of Archie, Peyton and Eli Manning.
Mullens made a nice impression on the Manning family when he tied with Michigan's John O'Korn in the Papa John's Air-it-Out and Iberia Bank Quarterback Challenge during the Manning Passing Academy in June in Thibodeaux, La.
Mullens threw for 4,476 yards and 38 touchdowns in 2015, leading the Golden Eagles to a 9-5 season.
USM opens the season on Sept. 3 at Kentucky.
