Third arrest made in USM players shooting case

A third arrest has been made in the shooting of three USM football players, Hattiesburg police said in a press release.

Van Allen Myers, 23, of Prentiss was charged with three counts of accessory before the fact of aggravated assault. Myers was arrested about 11:30 p.m. Wednesday night in Gulfport.

U.S. Marshals, Mississippi Bureau of Investigations and Gulfport Police's Street Crime Unit were involved in the arrest.

Authorities are still looking for the shooting suspect, Travis Brown, and are warning the public that anyone discovered being in contact with Brown or helping him is subject to arrest.
