Southern Miss starter Hurston Waldrep enters the transfer portal
Southern Miss starting pitcher Hurston Waldrep has entered the transfer portal, according to reports on Twitter.
Waldrep enters the portal just two days before the spring sports deadline to do so without having to sit out a season.
Waldrep put together a 3.20 ERA in 90 innings as USM’s primary Sunday starter.
The sophomore struck out 140 batters to just 33 walks in his first season in the rotation.
Waldrep was recently added to the 2022 Collegiate National Training Camp roster as one of the 50 best non-draft eligible college baseball players, along with USM starter Tanner Hall.
