Tanner Hall quickly becoming one of the most decorated Golden Eagles’ ever
Starting pitcher Tanner Hall is going to need more room in his trophy case.
As the college baseball accolades pour in at the conclusion of the regular season, the Southern Miss right-hander is seeing the fruits of a dominant campaign on the mound.
Hall has been named Conference USA’s Pitcher of the Year after posting a 2.68 ERA in 2022. His ERA placed second in C-USA among starters while his 120 strikeouts led the league and was eighth nationally.
In addition to the conference honors, Hall is also the second player in school history to be named one of the 25 semifinals for the Golden Spikes Award, which is given to the top amateur baseball player in the country.
Hall’s 12.0 K/BB ratio is the best in the country among pitchers who have thrown at least 50 innings.
Along with Hall, pitchers Hurston Waldrep and Landon Harper also received First Team All-Conference honors.
Waldrep had 109 strikeouts and carried a 2.85 ERA as USM’s Sunday starter. Harper, primarily a late-game reliever, led C-USA with 10 saves while pitching to a 2.19 ERA.
Dustin Dickerson earned second team honors after leading the league in doubles with 22. Vancleave product Carson Paetow was named to the All-Freshman team. Paetow hit 13 home runs and collected 42 RBIs.
