Atlas Fights will honor first responders in the region and Baton Rouge police officers Saturday night in Studio A at the IP Casino in Biloxi.

First responders and Baton Rouge police will be admitted free to Atlas Fights 28, a mixed martial arts card. Doors open at 7 p.m. with the first fight at 8 p.m.

Those who arrive early can watch D’Iberville’s Chase Sherman make his UFC debut at 4:30 p.m. on UFCfightpass.com.

Two championship fights are on the card.

In the main event, Matt McCook will defend his Atlas Fights lightweight title against Omar Johnson.

“I am really excited about this fight,” McCook said. “This will be my sixth title fight for Atlas so these are familiar waters for me. This fight is simply going to be a battle of wills. I believe physically we are evenly matched and we have a really good skill set so it just comes down to who wants it more.”

In the other championship bout, Billy Bradshaw faces Ryan Carroll for the Atlas Fights featherweight title.

Also on the card: Demarcus Sharpe vs. Baraq Hunter; Michael Mitchell vs. Khaylash; Zac Cooper vs. Rocky Landry; Steven Jackson vs. David Jackson; Brooks Conely vs. Treston Vines; DeAndre Mays vs. Ray Aloise; Emilaino Arrieta vs. Charon Steward; Jerad Salter vs. Rob Sanfillippo; Rodricus Dansby vs. Brandon Adams; and Tyler Stodghill vs. Roland Landry.

General admission tickets start at $30 and reserve tickets are between $35 and $80.
