The Mississippi Golden Gloves boxing tournament will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Pascagoula Recreation Center Gymnasium.
The Coast will be well represented at the Golden Gloves, with several local boxing clubs scheduled to compete. Keith Hughes Boxing Club, East Central Boxing Club and the Gulfport Boxing Club will all have fighters competing in the various weight classes. The Keith Hughes Boxing Club is hosting the event.
Other Magnolia state clubs slated to compete include McComb, Hattiesburg, Jackson, Tupelo and Southaven.
"It's has been a great event every year and we expect nothing less this year," Keith Hughes said. "We've got some good teams coming and it should be an exciting event."

Fourteen fighters will represent Keith Hughes Boxing Club: Augustine Lopez (8 years old, 60lbs), Rashad Madden (10 years old, 100 pounds), Kevin Fortier (15 years old, 150 pounds), Emma Kate Alexander (16 years old 150 pounds), Jonathan Dones (16 years old 100 pounds), Abe Darnell (16 years old 155 pounds), Bryan Soto (17 years old 140 pounds), Sam Alexander (18 years old 150 pounds), Randy Blythe (22 years old, 160 pounds), Kendrick Burkes (25 years old 140 pounds), Kenny Williams (27 years old, 190 pounds), Chris Polk (28 years old, 200 pounds, Joey Delueme (31 years old 200 pounds) and Felix Delgado (31 years old, 147 pounds)
East Central Boxing Club will bring six fighters to the competition: Antuan Wells (9 years old 100 pounds), Keylan Booty (10 years olds 70 pounds), Landyn Hoard (12 years old 85 pounds), Colton Malone (13 years old 106 pounds), female fighters Malissa Habeck (13 years old 130 pounds) and Samantha McGoron (14 years old 125 pounds).
Each weight class fight is three-round bouts. Older-division bouts feature two-minute rounds, with 90-second rounds in the youth age groups.
Admission for the Mississippi Golden Gloves is $10 for adults, $5 for students. Children 6-and-under admitted free.
