NRFI, YRFI MLB Bets Today: Best First Inning Predictions for Saturday, June 13
Detroit Tigers ace Tarik Skubal makes his highly anticipated return from the Injured List against the Cleveland Guardians. With the possible rust and butterflies, and facing a pitcher with a 4.57 ERA, this is a good spot for a YRFI. We also like the YRFI in the matchup with the St. Louis Cardinals and Minnesota Twins. The lone NRFI we like is featuring the San Diego Padres and Baltimore Orioles.
We have a full slate for Saturday, and 10 of them are day games. So get those wagers in early, and as Russell Wilson put it so eloquently: Let's ride!

Best NRFI and YRFI Bets Today
Detroit Tigers at Cleveland Guardians YRFI (-135)
Tigers LHP Tarik Skubal makes his first start since April. The first inning was a time to jump on him before the injury as he had a 3.86 ERA in the opening frame. Guardians LHP Joey Cantillo has been a mixed bag at 4-3 with a 4.57 ERA on the season. He has a 3.21 ERA in the first frame through 14 starts. This one shapes up to be a good shot at a YRFI.
St. Louis Cardinals at Minnesota Twins YRFI (-120)
The Cards throw LHP Matthew Liberatore Saturday. He's 3-3 with a 4.48 ERA on the season and has had a rough June with a 6.23 ERA. He has been beaten around in the first inning with a 5.54 ERA and a .294 opponent batting average. LHP Connor Prielipp might help you win a spelling bee, but he hasn't been good on the mound. He's 2-4 with a 5.15 ERA on the season. He has been even worse in the first with a 6.00 ERA.
San Diego Padres at Baltimore Orioles NRFI (+110)
Padres RHP Randy Vasquez has struggled with a 6.00 ERA in June that has ballooned his ERA to 3.63 on the season. He has been decent in the first, though. He has a 3.46 ERA and 14 K's in 13 first frames this season. Orioles RHP Trey Gibson has been solid since entering the rotation at 1-1 with a 4.24 ERA in three starts. He has allowed just one earned run in the first frame in those three starts.
What Does NRFI and YRFI Mean in Baseball?
The term NRFI indicates no runs scored in the first inning. Its opposite, YRFI, indicates yes, a run will be scored in the first inning. It doesn't matter if the run qualifies as an earned run or not. If a run crosses the plate in the first inning for either team, the wager loses for the NRFI side and wins for the YRFI side.
