New Video Shows Just How Loud President Trump Was Booed At NBA Finals

Even though President Donald Trump became the first sitting U.S. president to attend the NBA Finals this Monday night, he didn't receive a warm welcome from the crowd at Madison Square Garden.

It was confirmed last Thursday that Trump would be in attendance for Game 3 between the San Antonio Spurs and New York Knicks. NBA commissioner Adam Silver said, "We're seeing that in New York, and I think President Trump is very much a New Yorker, and I'm thrilled that yet another New Yorker wants to participate in the enthusiasm and the joy around this Knick team."

Trump was shown on the big screen at Madison Square Garden as "The Star-Spangled Banner" was being performed. A good portion of the crowd greeted the president with boos.

Jack Settleman, the CEO and founder of Snapback Sports, recorded a video of Trump getting booed at Madison Square Garden. It sounds like the reception the president received was even worse than we initially thought.

WFAN's Evan Roberts also captured the moment Trump was shown during the national anthem.

The spotlight surrounding Game 3 shined even brighter.

In order to ensure Trump's safety, Secret Service personnel and police were stationed outside Madison Square Garden all day. Spurs star De'Aaron Fox said the protocol to enter the arena was a bit inconvenient.

"I think the president being here just makes it inconvenient on everybody else," Fox said. "We've got more, obviously more security. We've got to send stuff early, I think our buses are a little earlier. The less stuff you can bring the better. Obviously, we're getting screened like it's TSA. A little inconvenient for the people that's gotta play. It is what it is."

Every fan in attendance for Game 3 had to go through Transportation Security Administration-style security screenings. Thankfully, it doesn't sound like there have been any issues at MSG.
