OG Anunoby Reveals What He Expects From Victor Wembanyama in Game 3
The New York Knicks lead the San Antonio Spurs 2-0 in the NBA Finals after stealing both Game 1 and Game 2 on the road.
Victor Wembanyama didn’t play up to his typical standards in the first two games at San Antonio’s Frost Bank Center. While he averaged an impressive 27.5 points, 10.5 rebounds and 3.5 blocks per game, he struggled with his offensive efficiency as the Knicks executed their defensive game plan.
A big part of New York’s defensive game plan on Wembanyama is NBA All-Defensive Second Team forward OG Anunoby, whose strength, size, physicality and athleticism have made things difficult for the 7-foot-4 Frenchman.
On Sunday, Anunoby was asked “what version” of Wembanyama the Knicks expect to see in Game 3 at Madison Square Garden.
“The usual. Aggressive, talented, relentless. The usual Wemby,” Anunoby said.

The Knicks clearly have a great deal of respect for Wembanyama, who led the Spurs to victory over the reigning-champion Oklahoma City Thunder as the unanimous MVP of the Western Conference Finals.
Karl-Anthony Towns, who’s also been a huge part of the Knicks’ defensive effort against Wembanyama, referred to the 22-year-old Spurs center as a “generational player.”
“Something we’ve never seen in the NBA before,” Towns said. “To be able to go play in this moment against the best is all you can ask for.”
