Packers' Micah Parsons Gives Stunning Pick for Best Player in NFL
Pro Bowl defensive linebacker Micah Parsons is known for intimidating opponents and making an impact on games by hunting down and stopping opposing quarterbacks, allowing his team’s QB to get back on the field.
He joined the Green Bay Packers ahead of last season via a trade from his former team, the Dallas Cowboys. He nearly played the entire season before suffering a brutal torn ACL and meniscus surgery that forced him out for the remainder of his squad’s games, including the NFL Playoffs.
Green Bay is hoping to have him back healthy for their defense in the upcoming season, so he can continue wreaking havoc on opponents, with a mid-October return putting him back just before halfway through the Packers 2026-27 campaign.
Meanwhile, Parsons turned heads with his appearance in a recent promotional video featuring other players as they named the player who should be at the top of the NFL’s soon-to-be-revealed top 100 list.

Among the individuals starring in the new video are Las Vegas Raider defensive star Maxx Crosby, Atlanta Falcons running back Bijan Robinson, and San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle.
Some of the names given out early in the video include Josh Allen, Patrick Mahomes, and Myles Garret, the latter of whom changed scenery this offseason, heading to the Los Angeles Rams via trade.
Kittle says the top player is his teammate, Christian McCaffrey, and he jokes it’s “not because he’s my locker buddy and watched me do the list.”
When the clip briefly shows Parsons, he quickly says “Iceman,” a surprising naming of the Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams, someone the Packers face twice this coming season as division rivals.
Williams led an exciting Bears run through the regular season, with wins in the most improbable ways. However, his memorable highlight passes against the Packers in a thrilling comeback win were quickly considered legendary.
Chicago captured the NFC North, a division the Packers have won many times before, and then went on to eliminate their division rivals in the Wild Card Round. Ultimately, the Bears fell to the Rams in overtime in the NFC Divisional Round, with some feeling they could’ve reached the Super Bowl in their magical run.
In just his third season, the Bears quarterback finished seventh in the NFL with 3,942 passing yards and sixth with 27 touchdown passes. Williams nearly became the first Bears quarterback to pass for 4,000 yards in an NFL season.
His success led to a surge in his popularity, and he’s now gracing the upcoming Madden 27 video game. However, one would think a Packers player would be the last individual to hype up a rival QB from the Bears.
“Wait did Micah just say Caleb?? Packers fans in shambles,” an X commenter said, reacting to the NFL’s clip.
“Packers fans spend every waking moment trying to discredit Caleb and now the best player they’ve had in a long time says he’s #1,” another commenter said.
Others commented, “That’s not a good look for Micah…,” and “giving Bears fc engagement bait huh? I see you out here admin.”
It’s possible that Parsons is a big fan of Williams, or that some players had to name a specific player from a script. There’s also a possibility that some of the players had parts of their audio clipped to put compelling sound bites in the teaser.
With Parsons slated for a Week 5 or 6 return, he could be on the field for the Packers’ first meeting, a home game against the Bears on Oct. 11. At the very least, he should be on track to play in the second meeting, a Christmas afternoon game on Dec. 25 in Chicago.
